Canterbury is packed with History and Heritage waiting for you to come and discover. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to six museums, including the Westgate Towers Museum, one of England’s finest mediaeval fortified gatehouses, two castles, and the famous Canterbury tales, allowing you to step back into the middle ages and join the Pilgrims on their journey from London to the Cathedral.

Guests staying in a Canterbury bed and breakfast will enjoy touring the three World Heritage Sites in the City, those being the Cathedral, St Martin’s church, and St Augustine’s Abbey, with St Martin’s Church being the oldest parish church in England and the Abbey being founded in 597AD.

Canterbury district is also ideal for all ages of Children. Herne Bay’s seafront is a great place for the kids to burn off some energy, on the trampolines, playground or even a spot of mini golf.

The shingle beaches are safe for kids to play and there are plenty of good walking paths and wide promenades for you to enjoy the picturesque coastline. For the evenings, Canterbury is home to an abundance of Theatres, including the 1000-seater Marlowe, or Gulbenkian in Canterbury, Kings Hall in Herne bay and the Horsebridge and the Playhouse in Whitstable, all offering shows to suit all tastes.
